The courses
Each course does a different job. You do not have to take all three, but they were designed to be followed in this order.
How money works.
Compound interest, inflation, what risk is and why nobody earns without taking any. No prior knowledge required.
How to choose where to invest.
Reading a company balance sheet, comparing assets, building a portfolio that holds up, and understanding the simulator rules.
How to defend what you chose.
Building an investment thesis, investing within a client’s constraints, and presenting to a panel.
The General course is yours, free, with no deadline and no need to compete. It is the groundwork school does not cover and that lasts a lifetime.
Recommended path
All three courses open when you register for the BFC. Teams of up to four students, from 8th grade through high school, from any school in Brazil.

Who makes the material
Brasília Finance Educacional is made by us at HHA Investments, the same group that founded the Brasília Finance Challenge. Our team took 2nd place globally at the Wharton Global High School Investment Competition, the most contested finance competition in the world for high school students. It was the best result by a Latin American team in the history of the competition, and we were the first Brazilians to travel to the global final in Philadelphia. We do not want to be the last.
Every lesson here comes out of what we learned there: what was actually asked of us, what worked in practice, and what nobody had taught us before. Our job is to translate that into Portuguese and into the reality of someone starting out — whether to manage their own money or to compete.
For students looking for a Wharton Investment Competition tutorial, the starting point is the foundation: finance, economics, company analysis, and portfolio construction.

The competition
The finance competition for students from 8th grade through high school. Teams of up to four, from any school in Brazil, manage a real portfolio in a simulator over four weeks.
The best teams defend their own strategy before a panel, at the in-person final in Brasília. Everything in the courses here comes from there.
